FAQ

Q:
Can you remove the vocal track from a commercial cassette and leave just the instrumental track?
A: Sorry. Once you have a commercial recording in-hand, all the original tracks have been mixed down to stereo. They can never be separated again. Most people who ask this question really want a Karaoke CD to sing to during a recording session. Karaoke CDs are available from a wide variety of stores, including the larger record/CD shops.

Q: Do you transfer recordings from old L.P.s to CD or cassettes?
A: Sorry again. We no longer provide this service.

Q: Do you do video recording?
A: No. Tullen Sound Recording can provide audio for video recordings, but does not do actual video taping.

Q: I have a recording I made that may help me out in a court case. Can you enhance it to make the voice clearer?
A: Possibly. However, there are specialists in the field of forensic audio who are better equipped to help you.

Q: I have a song that is too long for my competition. Can you edit it so that it's 2 minutes and 30 seconds long?
A: We are very skilled in editing music, and can most likely bring the total length to within a few percent of your goal.

Q: The music I selected for my dance performance is too fast. Can you slow it down?
A: Yes, and without any alteration in pitch! (And we can also speed it up!!)

Q: I have a jazz project coming up. How experienced are you in recording jazz?
A: I have recorded Wynton Marsalis, Dave Brubeck, Larry Corryell, Danny Gottlieb, Mark Egan, Gary Haberman, and Patti Dunham. We have lots of experience in the jazz idiom.

Q: Is there anything you don't or won't record?
A: We will not record anything offensive to any sex, race, or ethnic group.
